The studio opened in January 2025 and offers 7 private personal suites with PlatinumLED BIOMAX dual-spectrum panels delivering red light (630–700nm), near-infrared light (700–1100nm), and infrared sauna heat (120–145°F). Recovery Protocols by Phase

Phase 1

Training Block

During a Hyrox or CrossFit training block, 3–5 sessions per week combining red light therapy and infrared sauna manages inter-workout inflammation, boosts mitochondrial ATP output, and reduces DOMS — allowing you to train harder with faster turnaround.

3–5 sessions / week
Phase 2

Race Week Priming

Red light and near-infrared therapy 48–72 hours before race day reduces residual inflammation, boosts cellular energy production, and primes muscle tissue for peak output. On the day before the race, light therapy only — skip the full sauna to avoid pre-race fatigue.

48–72 hrs before race
Phase 3

Post-Race Recovery

Within 24–48 hours after competition, infrared sauna accelerates lactic acid clearance, reduces DOMS, and drives blood flow to damaged muscle tissue — enabling dramatically faster return to training versus passive rest alone.

24–48 hrs after race

The Science Behind Athletic Recovery

Red & Near-Infrared Light → DOMS Reduction

A 2016 meta-analysis of 13 randomized controlled trials in Photomedicine and Laser Surgery found photobiomodulation (red and near-infrared light at 630–1100nm) significantly reduced delayed onset muscle soreness and accelerated recovery in athletic populations. Source: Leal-Junior et al., 2016.

Infrared Sauna → Circulation & Recovery

Infrared sauna sessions at 120–145°F drive deep tissue circulation without the cardiovascular load of intense exercise. Post-exercise infrared heat has been studied for its role in lactate clearance and accelerated soft-tissue repair in competitive athletes.

Near-Infrared → ATP & Mitochondrial Energy

Near-infrared wavelengths (700–1100nm) penetrate deep into muscle, joint, and connective tissue where they stimulate cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria — the enzyme that drives ATP (cellular energy) production. This is why pre-competition NIR therapy is used by elite programs worldwide.

Consistent Use → Compounding Benefits

Light therapy and infrared sauna are cumulative — benefits compound over time. Athletes using beem® Reston 3–5 times per week throughout a training block report progressively faster recovery, reduced baseline inflammation, and more consistent performance output.
